Firing Squad: January Champions Battle

This experiment in especially shameless self promotion has been fun, but now it’s time to get serious. The four photographers in this month’s battle have only had to battle themselves… until now. What you’re looking at is the best of the best and they are all in the running for a brand new Burton camera pack. So vote wisely, so that one of their promotional efforts will not be for naught.

Firing Squad: Jason Tackitt vs Jason Tackitt

We have a problem here at the YoBeat Photo Battle:

Every time I open the Firing Squad photo folder I have an internal battle that seems something like the current 99 vs 1% occupy situation. One percent of what’s there is pretty amazing. 60% is fairly to mostly average and the rest? Well, if you can’t say something nice drag them to the trash & hit empty as quickly as you can…

I mean, I want to give everyone a fair shake and try to pick photos that are somewhat evenly matched. Unfortunately, that means I’m not always picking the “best” photos submitted. We have a small group of pro & semi pro photographers sending us photos and putting their work up against Johnny BroCam’s just doesn’t ever seem fair.

So, for the next four weeks I’m picking the best of the best photos that we have here in the Photo Battle archives. The catch, you ask? Each week it’ll be one photographer with two photos. You choose the winner & the Champion’s battle will decide the best pro photo left standing.

This week it’s Jason Tackitt’s photos up on the block. Will it be backcountry or slackcountry that wins? You decide.

Firing Squad: Connor Dudgeon vs Jason Tackitt

Last week we put a bird on some powder it and called it art. This week we’re all about getting real in the streets. I mean, when it finally “dumps” 6 inches of snow somewhere what are you most likely to do? Okay, I doubt you’ll do anything like what you see in either of these photos but hey, you can pretend to while you’re hitting that 4′ flat bar you dig out of the garage. Regardless, pick your jib poison and vote.

PS, send in your photos!
