While you may think we’ve been shredding daily thanks to Timberline and the Palmer Glacier being open year round, truth is, we’ve been watching the Midwest and Utah openings jealously due to inclement weather. But no more! The Northwest is getting pounded right now and everything is opening up for real, this weekend.
Friday, Mt. Baker will turn on the lifts and anyone who’s anyone will be there, including, but not limited to, Sean Tedore, Peter Line, TJ Schnieder, Austin Hironaka and half of Surrey, BC!
On Saturday, Stevens Pass and Summit at Snoqualmie are opening, as well as Mt. Hood Meadows. Right now, Meadows is “limited” saying, “Currently, two lifts — Buttercup and Easy Rider — are scheduled from 9 AM — 4 PM, but more lifts may be added as additional snow is forecast Thursday into Friday. The resort will announce scheduled lift operations and lift ticket pricing for Saturday by Friday afternoon.” So stay tuned at Skihood.com to find out if it’s worth the drive (fingers crossed!)
