RIP, Aaron Robinson.

Unfortunate news hit us today, as we received word that Aaron Robinson (brother of a Yobeat favorite Jason Robinson and bad ass snowboarder in his own right), passed away in Chile today.

Update: ESPN is reporting Aaron was “doing road laps in an area known as Santa Teresita when he fell and hit his head on the rocks. Though it is technically out of bounds run, Santa Teresita is a popular backcountry area accessed off the back of a lift at the base of the El Colorado resort.” Link: sports.espn.go.com/action/

Below is a video of Aaron from The North Face Masters: Snowbird 2011. RIP Aaron. Our thoughts are with Jason and the rest of his family.

Wow, I can’t believe it. It was an amazing pleasure to get to know you and your brother and especially to shred with you in Chile last summer. Snowboarding lost one of its rising stars. Rest in peace Aaron.

I can only wish the Robinson Family the best in these difficult times. Like many, I met AROB through snowboarding and our common passion for the mountains. I cannot emphasize how incredible him and his brother were, both on and off the snow. Damn…

    RIP, Aaron Robinson.
Too many fallen warriors this season…
