Sponsor Me Battle: Nick Burnett vs Thomas Gallagher

Head injuries are no joke, which is why wearing a helmet is a good plan. Both the riders in this week’s sponsor me battle are playing it safe when it comes to protecting their brain, and they also know their way around a snowboard park. These guys are trying to work their way up snowboarding’s corporate ladder, and it’s up to you to decide who gets there faster (actually this will not likely help, but whatever.)

If you think these guys suck and you are way better, or you’d just like to be part of the sponsor me battle, send a link to your video (on vimeo or youtube, please – videos hosted on other platforms will not be be considered) with your name, address, size and a little bit about yourself to [email protected] If you’re chosen for the battle, we’ll send you an email when it goes live. The winner will receive a prize from the YoBeat Store.

New hoodies in the store now!! Check em out.

Mandatory Disclaimer: Battles are open to any amateur snowboarder – you may already be “sponsored,” as long as you are not getting paid by any brand, you are eligible to compete. You may choose your size, but not style (prizes are given away based on availability.) On the very slim chance “they both suck” option wins, no prize will be given. Videos should be submitted by the rider, not the videographer, however, we are happy to give film credit and list your current sponsors in the description, if provided.

Both were not fluid enough, looked like they were trying to hard. A couple winters down the road both prob. will have solid edits. BTW Gallagers music selection was awful.

Wow not a single kicker shot in both edits. I love rails but thats just too much!!! By the way both edits were so shaky that I had to vote for ” they both suck” sad but true!

    Jimbo says:

Wow, that was just embarassing. The first edit was okay until they stole the whole knife-show video sequence effect for the last shot. Word of advice: if you’re going to do something like that, do it more than once in the edit. That shot looked more out of place than Duke Ellington at a KKK bake sale…

And what the hell was up with the song selection in the second video? Seriously?? Is this your way of coming out to the YoBeat community? Seriously dude, it would have been less gay if you made your edit to “Butterfly” by Crazytown…

People suck at song selection, big time, therefore I deem neither worthy

seriously? none of these kids are going to get “sponsored” simply for the fact that they’ve submitted videos on here… please stop these battles to save a lot of heart ache

  7. lame
    lame says:

neither of them can do a proper front board but the first one is hitting man-sized street spots so that shows some potential

    Bryan says:

definitley goin with the second one. I mean if your guna make an edit at least find someone with a decent camera and knows how to film. yeah the first guy was hitting harder stuff. but his style looked like he had a stick up his but. i mean at least the second guy attempted to film with a shitty dolly and can sorta spin of a kicker…

  9. Jimbo
    Jimbo says:

hey, DF, the whole point is they get “sponsored” by YoBeat. It’s not like the top TM’s of all the top companies are checking this shit for their next Torstein, it’s for some free hoodies and shit. But neither of these even deserve a ratty old hoodie that was forgotten behind the driver seat of Brooke’s car, then repeatedly run over by the seat, then shat on by Donny Diamond.

What happened to properness is snowboarding? Just do it again so you don’t tap/smith/ or do any sort of swivel (with some exceptions, there are a handful done that don’t look so horrendous)

  11. really?
    really? says:

these two videos aren’t good. one, two, or three years down the road they might be decent. that’s if they are still riding
