The Grease Bus Imposters

It seems some enterprising youth has some up with a great idea to get Pepsi to give them $50,000. It’s simple really: Convert buses to run on vegetable oil and then run them from NYC to nearby ski resorts so “the thousands of inner city youth that cannot afford to go to ski/snowboard can now go on day trips with their friends for cheap!!” In fact, it’s such a good idea, we can’t believe no one’s ever thought of it before. Oh wait.

So for the record, The Portland Grease Bus has been up and running for a couple years now, and  is not in any way affiliated with this Grease Bus NYC project. Not to be a Debbie Downer, or anything, because it’s hard not to want to support it (and we do!) But geez, they could have at least come up with an original name. If you want to help the unnamed Grease Bus NYC founders get Pepsi’s money, go vote for them. If you want more info on the OG Grease Bus, visit and

hey, i’m the on the one that made that page! first off i just need to say i was in no way trying to jack the name!! I respect the real Grease Bus and yes…I totally jacked the idea, because it’s amazing, and in NYC there isn’t shit thats even close to it. I made the profile for the pepsi site 3 months ago, and while makin it just used “greasebusnyc” as a reference cause i didnt wanna give it an actual name. BUT…after the first time you save it, you cant change shit!! i honestly did not mean to keep that name on there…and if somehow we get this cash, it WILL NOT be called that!

So anyways…thanks for the support, and everyone please vote for us! And hey real Grease Bus…please don’t sue us…if we had any money for ya, we wouldnt have to hit up a soda company for cash!!!

I love quasihaters! hahahaha, tons of people have been doing bio diesel ideas now for a decade….I am so glad to see someone else out there trying to get something started where there is nothing. And since pepsi is giving out the loot…Y not! Spread the stoke

I’m the other 1/2 and we in no way wanted to steal anything from the others, the name was used as reference to get in on the Pepsi Refresh Project. At the end of the day, we would not use the name Grease Bus NYC. Just looking to create a way to shuttle NYC people to and from the mountains, surf & skate parks for a better price while being Eco-Friendly. Probably should have done our research a bit more and to be honest and do not want to step on anyone’s toes.

At the end of the day, day trips out of NYC run people $40 and up, just looking to make it more obtainable and affordable for those who want to ride and looking for more options.

If you have ever been to NYC, then you know how much we need to get on the Eco TIP. The City is full of trash and rats and maybe this could help get peoples attention

    a candidate for hack-o-the-day!

why not greaseshuttle, oilcruiser, lardbarge? something–ANYthing other than “greasebus?”

mitigating factor: Dan O’Callahan was a rad character in Hot Dog: The Movie

Oopsie: I don’t think homophobia is going to sell sodas*…you may want to rethink that approach.

You don’t like “LardBarge?” Is that because it’s not already taken? Seriously–you don’t like “LardBarge?”

*at least not here…maybe in Nigeria.

Hey There, Mike from Greasebus here. Just got a call from a friend notifying me of the post and thought i’d check in. I’d just like to say that the more Grease powered vehicles on the road the better.

lardbardge sounds like the name of an old fat lady that works at a train-car converted to a diner in upstate NY who works the redeye and loves meth, young spanish boys, camel lights, and french fries.
