Snowboarding stunts, taming wild horses, and now, dealing art! Is there anything Travis Rice can’t do, or at least isn’t willing to try? Asymbol Gallery is Travis Rice’s latest venture. He’s partnered with Mike Parillo and Claire Johnson, and with the help of Nemo Design, the online art dealership is live!
According to featured photographer Tim Zimmerman, who is also handling the pre press and production side of the photography:
Travis wanted to give the artists and photographers he respects an opportunity to sell prints to the public. Most of the time a photographer’s favorite images just sit in a file or on a hard drive and never see the light of day because the magazines didn’t choose them. The same goes for the artwork. There are so many iconic board graphics out there that just sort of disappear into snowboard history. This is a chance to get a print of that Jamie Lynn graphic Lib-Tech you owned 15 years ago. It’s a way to take what amounts to disposable marketing imagery, and make it more permanent.
The prints are being offered in signed limited editions and are printed on high-quality paper. The photographs are light jet silver halide prints. The art prints are giclee.
Now it’s up to you to click over there and open your wallet. If nothing else, you can enjoy using Mr. T, Miss Piggy and other classic characters as a scale for how massive the prints really are.
