Firing Squad: May 12, 2009

Shooting with flashes adds a whole new level of difficultly, and potentially, interest to your photography. Do it right and you can get a cover shot, do it wrong and well, you should have just waited until the sun came out. Both the champ and challenger lit it up this week, who did it better?

The Champ

The Challenger

bonus points for both tricks being appropriated from skate and sarf. No “michael jacksons” or whatever.

    obviously, the slashpic is better.

    And I don’t know shit.

    im taking #1.

2 doesnt work because it make snowboarders look stupid. a slash on a crusty bank like that might be legit, if it was on a wave, 2 doesnt even look fun. slash action should have some action naw mean? #1 has some dope patterns with all those verticals. let it roll.

the champ all the way. the challenger is in a style of photography i like, but its just to forced, little bank with confused lighting… even if it wins, it wont make it another week. the champ is a little crooked but the snowboarding and photo are stronger.

#2 all the way. Better lighting and more creative. I’m no photog but the second is far more visually pleasing.

horgan’s slash is FUN, and the long exposure fading the back of the bank off looks great!
