Hey I was just wondering why you guys are always so harsh on Jeff Brushie? Do
you know him personally? Did he do something to you to bring this on or is
this just based on hearsay?
Just wondering!! ALarson999@aol.com
Ed: Please refer to Issue 5. Scandal Sells.
I have been reading your online magazine and I'm very curious on why you guys
seem to pick on Jeff Brushie. I work with and photograph all of these
snowboarders. They are all a great group of guys to work with and very
talented. Jeff is included in this and I feel he is often misperceived by
others. He is always very professional to work with and a very talented
snowboarder. As a person he is a great guy with a great big heart. I know if
I was ever in a situation where I needed help Jeff is person I could depend
on. It saddens me that people would feel the need to judge athletes and their
peers in this industry so harshly. Does this really help this sport grow
bigger and stronger dissing on people who have helped pave the way? Why not
pick on certain corporations and FIS who are doing nothing but exploiting this
sport and the athletes to line their pockets with money?!
By the way Todd is 2 or 3 years older than Jeff.
Sincerely,
Rob Gracie RobGracie@aol.com
Ed: I dis on whoever comes to mind, but nobody seems to notice when I complain
about Nike.
just read some of the latest issue and thought it was grrreeat. it's nice to
see some sort of pro-vermont (let's face it, killington) snowboard publication
in circulation again. how did we ever get along without east infection?
laterz,
maura:) Mauraobe@aol.com
Ed: We didn't. I read my one copy of the last issue of EI about 1,000 times, and
when ever I get whistful, I call up Pat Bridges.
Great work guys. I don't snowboard, but YoBeat came highly recommended
from a source who shall remain anonymous, although if our e-mail address
is any hint, one of your writers could probably figure it out who gave
me the tip.
Seriously, compared to most of the web sites I visit, Yo Beat has a
great look and well written stuff. Keep it up!

Ed: I think you scared Rachel. She's apparently M.I.A.
Hey, great piece about opening day. I literally laughed my ass off, remenicent of closing
day. Every year i ride on my birthday, Apr 18th, and although K Rock is open well after
that, if they can call it open, i guess it is because they still charge you, it isn't any
better. Taking a lift to the top to ride the,"2 trails and 2 miles" of mashed
potato's with extra brown gravy is about as exciting as a Feb. dumping. East coast is hard
core, and being a Jerz boy born and bred, well, born in NYC, but i digress, and driving 4
hours every weekend to KVT to my retreat near the PB, is a chore. But its a chore with
great rewards. Unstrapping every 500 yds in April, is one of them. Walking down 2" of
muck, or huck, holding your deck well away from your face as not to ass plant and eat an
A-Star for lunch, is just the start of the journey. Small rivers form on the mt. and
skiiers try to jump them with their hard boots. They soon find out that was not a smart
move landing on the water covered ice, feeling weightless for a moment before the legs are
straight out in front of them and thinking, ditch the gear, save my skull. Poles launched
in every direction, and the "uuuuuuugh", when they hit the ground is comedy at
its finest. Hucking around brown mashy on a board can be taxing. Ecspecially when your
ollie-ing every 10 ft, riding fakie to relieve your back leg from too much blood flow,
getting your upper body into turns as if you were cutting off a friend at your favorite
go-cart track, and trying to see through your mist filled goggles for the idiot in front
of you. Oh yea, time to unstrap again, then repeat. It aint pretty, it aint pleasurable,
but at the bottom of the track, you look at your buds and say, damn, its good to be alive!
Who's buying?
East Coast rocks, traveling 4 hours to get there.........wouldn't miss it for the world.
Ed: Too bad that day was better than those that followed.
You have no eye for a good video!!! I just read your video reviews and i dissagree!!
All you do is talk shit about TB7 witch is the best video this year!
NORTH OF HEAVEN rules it.
jason levins voicing his opinion. JAYL60@aol.com
Ed: At least I don't rollerblade.
Issue 12 is better than ever! I've been tuning in since YOBEAT was up on AOL and it's
got way better every issue! Not like some other budget mags out there! You should
definitely keep going for a larger scale!!! Good work!

Ed: What's a budget?
This friday, after turkey day, i went up to killington to see if they were really open
for the season or if they were just bullshitting as usual. They were somewhat open (29
trails), and it wasn't half bad. I enjoyed the whole day, and at the end of the day, to
top things off, i got my board stolen. That is so fucking lame. They stole my damn board
only a year after my other one was stolen. And it's not like it was that great of a board
too. It was a 95-96 K2 Tricky 153, that was banged up and had pieces that were literally
gouged out of the bottom and sides. I loved that board more than my damn mom. I kept it in
my room on my couch, cause i didn't want it getting dusty in the basement. There were so
many better boards out there to steal, brand new ones from this year! In case anyone out
there cares, my board was blue and white, had last years Burton Custom Freestyle bindings
(Black and white), had a wet willy sticker (From world industries), a "pro
quality" sticker, a nitro snowboards sticker, a four square sticker, a special blend
sticker, a snowboarder magazine sticker, and a peeling yobeat sticker. If anyone finds
this board, please contact me at Nitrogen69@aol.com. It was stolen at the Rams Head Base.
Thanks and peace out.

P.S. - Killington sucks!
Ed: Too bad we're not trying to buy readers buy giving away free snowboards, huh?
i would like to say right on to you for your absolutly wonderful article
entilted "if i was a girl"
i'm not some super girl snowboarder, and who knows if being sponsored is ever
in my horizon, i just love the sport. i have yet to talk to a guy who rides
and thinks being a girl snowboarder is hard. well being a girl and dealing
with girls sucks and i'm glad you wrote that article and told at least one
person off *thank you*
Helbound18@aol.com
Ed: I hope I told lots of people off, people suck.
