Lost Role Models: Mockingbird

When Brooke sent me this record to review I had a ton of shit going and had no time to really listen to it, so when I did I quickly dismissed it as some typical midwest backpacker type mess (granted I knew absolutely nothing about Lost Role Models.) But then I figured if I was going to talk shit about a record I should at least give it a serious listen. Now here’s what I think I know. If these guys aren’t from the somewhere in the middle of America they certainly like that sound. Apparently they are graff writers too and if they paint half as well as they make beats then they are probably the kings of where ever they hail from. Damn I love the beats on this record. Straight up moody boom bap. I would play the instrumental version of this record nonstop. The lyrical side of this record I wasn’t feelin’ as much tho. Not that they are bad but it's just not that great. It's almost like they give off a different type of vibe and don’t quite fit the music. But on the other hand I think I would have loved this album when I was 19 if that says anything. But all in all this is a decent hiphop record from the Lost Role Models.I wouldn’t be mad if I paid ten dollars for it.
