Obligatory (Not so Good) Mt. Hood Coverage 2000
This year, I guess I was cool enough to get to go to Mt. Hood. For the most part, the experience was the same as I remember from year's past. I played Chess, watched videos, ate shitty food at Huck's and hit on fifteen year old boys. The only difference was this year, I knew almost everyone there. Yes, I am trying to impress you with the vast number of people I know... Okay anyway, this was largely due to the fact that almost everyone in Gov'y is originally from New Hampshire. So rather than doing the standard Hood story, which is to put it lightly, played, I'm going to let you know who lives there so you can impose upon them and make your own Mt. Hood voyage. Although we are providing names, and numbers where available, if you do choose to call any of these people, you didn't get the idea from us. Liam Barrett: You may know Liam from Killington, Plymouth or the Bud Light tour. Whatever, he has a house there with Matty Ryan, and some other transients. It's small, but it's right in the middle of Gov'y. Liam's number is 603.512.8269, but you didn't get it here. Kyle Clancy: Kyle is so hooked up that he stays at the Salomon condo, which is located at Idleweiss. He blew me off the last day I was there, so stay with him. 802.249.2723 Tom Flocco: Tom is staying at the Nidecker house. They let Zach Diamond and his woman stay there too, so you might have a shot. It's really close to the High Cascade lodge, so basically, there's excellent access to campers. 503.272.3074 Preston Strout: Okay, Preston is a counselor, so it might be hard to stay with him, but he does live in the nicest HCSC housing, Boardline. 503.272.3090 Of course, you could always go the legitimate route and stay in a hotel. There are a couple, Mt. Hood Inn a reasonable $160 a night, and the rooms are Motel 6 quality. The Thunderhead Lodge is slightly cheaper, and has a pool table and a swimming pool, not to mention it's closer to the action. Okay, that's all the help you get for places to stay. Other than that, High Cascade has new skate ramps that you won't be allowed to use, but are still dope, and Volcano Cone is the new dope food stand. I'm putting up some pictures now, and that's it. Hood's over.
