Britney Spears: Live in Concert By Brooke Geery
As you may have gathered from the Britney Spears cursor on this very
site, I have a little unhealthy obsession with Britney. I think this stems from the fact
that I missed out on the New Kids, and when I was the right age for teenybopper music I
was mourning the death of Kurt Cobain. Either way, Im making up for it now, I own
her albums, a t-shirt, all the stickers in both series and Ill be the first to
preach her genius to you. For this reason, I was quick to buy tickets for her Los Angeles show,
and devastated when I had to miss it to go on a snowboard trip. I suppose a week on North
Americas best glaciers was a little better, but still, I missed Britney. However, I
never gave up, and a little over a month later, I found myself within two hours of another
stop on her tour. Needless to say I was in the car as soon as I found out, practically
running over parking attendants to get a good spot and my tickets for her show at SPAC in
Saratoga, NY. I spent the beginning of the show, the part that featured five wanabee Britneys and BSBs, on the phone calling everyone I knew. Although I know everyone was jealous, very few people shared by enthusiasm, but I didnt care, because in less than an hour Britney would take the stage. As soon as the opening notes of Crazy began to emanate from the front I found myself plowing over 11 year olds to get a good view of her outfit changing antics. The show was everything Id hoped for and more, and you know youre jealous. To make you feel a little bit closer to my experience, here are a few statistics I gathered:
